When I first moved to Missoula I was constantly looking for things to do, but didn’t know where to go or what the area had to offer. After living here for a little over two years, these are a few of my favorite things to do in the area.
Hike to Jerry Johnson Hot Springs
One of my favorite get aways is Jerry Johnson Hot Springs. It is just across the Idaho boarder outside of Lolo, and holds about 4 natural springs. It’s a great place to hike in, drink a few beers, and just relax.
Fish Rock Creek
Some of the best trout fishing Montana has to offer can be found if you take the exit 22 miles east of Missoula. Rock Creek is known for its abundance of brown and rainbow trout. When you go, make sure you hit the salmon fly hatch!
Float the Clark Fork River
As soon as summer rolls around, you will see float tubes and rafts lining the river. Grab some friends, a few beers, and go have a great time!
Party Hard Downtown
Missoula has a great bar scene. It holds everything from fancy bars to dirty dives. Whether you are just trying to grab a beer, or go hard until the break of dawn, downtown will have more than enough to offer.
Attend a Griz Game
One of the best college football atmospheres in the Nation. Missoula eats, breathes, and definitely drinks football. The crowd is always rowdy, the team is always good, and the game is a surefire way to have a great time! You have never experienced Missoula at its finest until you have experienced a Griz game.
